Wizz Air launches SEVEN new destinations you can fly to from Doncaster Sheffield Airport
Wizz Air is opening a new base at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, with additional flights available to Spain, Cyprus, Portugal and other European destinations.
The deal will enable the budget carrier to serve an extra 300,000 passengers a year at the airport, with seats going on sale from August to new locations including Alicante, Malaga, Larnaca, Faro, Lublin, Kosice, and Suceava.
The airport hailed the announcement as a ‘major breakthrough’ as it predicts ‘massive expansion’
Wizz Air already serves more than 900,000 passengers at DSA each year, flying predominantly to locations in eastern Europe.
Its managing director, Owain Jones, said: “Throughout the recent challenges, we have seen a real resilience in the UK and at DSA in particular. This breakthrough plays an important role in our business planning and aspiration to make air travel affordable for everyone.
